ORIGINS & EVOLUTION

2009

Moving ahead, 2009 saw larger involvement with Buhler, DSM and also opportunity to present to the Minister of Agriculture, Nigeria a proposal for integrated farming and milling. During the later part, a trade mission and exploratory study for the South African Fruit Growers association coordinated by Promar International, UK made us realize our potential think beyond conventional consulting. This project has given the company and staff tremendous confidence in our abilities to arrange for high level meetings and capture vital insights for Western companies to look at export opportunities in India in the fruit sector.

2010

The current year has been a milestone year; the partnership is being taken over as a Private Ltd.
company to work on novel and innovative business ideas and deliver them using strong Engineering capabilities, to think and act beyond consulting and help customers implements research outcomes and strategies. The company has recruited and developed engineering staff and is setup as two divisions, Planning & Execution.

The execution division has currently taken up innovative projects predominantly in the rice milling industry working on areas of plant engineering, power requirements reduction & rice mill integration.

2005

Symbio Global ventures was registered as a Partnership firm by Venkat Subramanian, a Graduate Agricultural & Food Engineer and Post Graduate in Business Management, during the completion of tenure as a Strategy Consultant, Promar – International based in Newbury – UK , a consulting firm specializing in the Agro-Food industry.


2006

Venkat returned back to India after about 5 years of working overseas to move on with Symbio Global Ventures. The first business was a consultancy contract for an Integrated Agro Food Park operating on the PPP model involving the provincial Government, Government of Indian and private entrepreneurs. This assignment gave the needed exposure and network to evolving areas of Indian Agriculture & Processing spanning the entire value chain.


2007

Further development saw the company getting closer to the Government with the provincial
Government offering an office space at the Department of Horticulture and appointed Symbio Global Ventures as consultant for several developmental projects. An important achievement was the development of cold chain policy and helping cooperative farmer organizations in becoming competitive.


2008

Symbio Global Ventures got back connections to the Swiss Buhler group in India where Venkat Subramanian was previously employed. This resulted in a Vision 2020 exercise resulting in about 20 outgrow projects as part of new business development.
